Empowering Women Of All Ages

The Guiding Empowering Women Entrepreneur Leaders 4 Success (GEWELS) program’s mission is to empower women of all ages while providing an understanding of common practices and the administrative needs of a business by offering training in essential workplace skills that are highly valued by entrepreneurs and employers. The GEWELS program is designed for individuals who are striving to improve their overall quality of life, by establishing a consistent source of income and a foundation for growth, which is in direct alignment with the mission statement, vision and core competencies of Paving Great Futures.

The GEWELS program offers women living in San Diego’s most underserved and impoverished neighborhoods the opportunity for professional growth.

These women have been chronically disenfranchised, entrenched in cycles of violence, exploitation, and incarceration. The “at risk” women that GEWELS supports are frequently survivors of human sex trafficking and have been incarcerated or impacted by the criminal justice system. The community of women served by GEWELS is multiracial, approximately 50% Black and 40% Latina, ranging in age from 18 to 35.
